Awards
There will be TASHA duffle bags (adults) and TASHA backpacks (kids) for championship classes. Qualifying classes will have silver trays with the TASHA logo engraved.
 

Volunteers
Please contact Teri Beaty if you can help in table sales, selling TASHA merchandise; may handle memberships, scholarship entries, contests, etc.
 

Sponsorships
About half of the classes still need to be sponsored, so please consider sponsorship. The cost is only $50 for two classes. Sponsorship forms are available on the web site at

Craft Activities
We need help manning the craft table on Saturday. So, if you enjoy working with glue guns, glitter, and kids, please let Laurie Levins, Sherry Wallace, or Pam Hester know you’re available.

Host Hotel
The Best Western Houston West (1-800-528-1234 or 281-392-9800) is the Host Hotel. It is located on the feeder of Interstate 10 between Grand Parkway and Mason Road. The rate is $62 for two doubles or one king if you identify yourself as being with the TASHA horse show. Because hotels are still booked with hurricane evacuees, please make your reservations early.

You can advertise your business or discuss opportunities with businesses that you use regularly (your bank, dry cleaners, favorite restaurants, etc.)

 

You should have received a packet of information from TASHA including membership, sponsorship, and advertising information in the mail. Please return your membership and sponsorships as soon as possible. If you did not receive this information, you can download the forms from the web site http://www.texasasha.org/TashaForms.htm

 

The awards banquet will be held Saturday evening during the Winter (January) show. A committee has been created to coordinate the logistics for the banquet. Chris Tresten, Patricia Reed, and Nancy Moreno will be coordinating a silent auction.

Notes:
•The Holiday TASHA show will be held at the Great Southwest Equestrian Center in Katy, TX on December 3-4.
•The 2004-2005 TASHA awards and Texas Highpoint Award banquet will be held in Houston in early 2006.
•A committee (Stacey Joiner, Julie Size, and Pam Hester) will create a mail-out packet which includes at least membership and sponsorships.
•Volunteers
-We need your help. If you have volunteered to help at the horse shows, and then can't make it, please make an effort to find a replacement yourself.
-Teri Beaty is leading a volunteer committee, and needs some more volunteers to help coordinate. Stacey Joiner will also help. Please contact Teri or Stacey if you are interested.
•Sherry Wallace has generously offered to match TASHA's scholarship fund for this coming show year, bringing the value up to $1000. If you are interested in matching future scholarships, please contact Jean Huffstickler.
•Pictures from the past two TASHA horse shows are posted on the web site. You may download a picture yourself, or send an e-mail to tasha@texasasha.org for a higher resolution version. We ask you to consider a donation to TASHA for this offering.
•Since the website is available, meeting notes will only be sent by postal mail to local barns. E-mail notification will be made to all TASHA members with valid e-mail addresses. Please check the web site to keep up with the news.

Motions Passed:
•TASHA will contact past winners of perpetual trophies to ask for donation to help with engraving cost
•Future engraving costs for perpetual trophies will be taken out of premium money during show check-out
•Classified ads can be posted on web site for $20

TASHA Meeting Minutes January 16, 2005

Attendees:Laurie Levins, Koren Mercer, Milo Jones, Julie Size, Denise Baker, Cheri Newberry, Susan and Jim Leggett, Nancy Moreno, Jan and Max Decker, Trisha Decker, Patricia Reed, Chris Tresten, Laurie Rebik, Teri Beaty

Meeting Notes:
•The meeting started at 2pm with networking, and was called to order at 2:30pm.

•The December TASHA show made $3200 ($200 profit were from the new TASHA jackets). 90 horses were shown; 117 back numbers were used; and there were 262 entries.
•February Show planning was discussed:
-Ribbons have been ordered.
-TASHA Jackets are in stock.
-The qualifying classes will receive small TASHA duffle bags for first place; championships will receive TASHA garment bags.
-The membership directory is being cleaned up, and will probably be published after the show.
-The center ring decorations' budget is $100. Extra help could be used setting up and taking down. If you can help, please
contact Sandy Reed.
-Still looking for a Horse Show Host - a nonpartisan person to escort the judge around town (meals, airport transportation, etc.).
If you know of someone, please contact Koren Mercer. Other volunteer positions were discussed with possible choices.
You may be called! If you can help out, please contact Cheri Newberry.
-TASHA will start engraving the Perpetual trophies again for this show season. Jan Decker will secure a quote for engraving to
catch up on the missing years. If the quote is affordable, TASHA will fund the engraving for the missing years.
-All classes but 5 were previously sponsored. The remaining 5 were sponsored at the meeting.
-Emma Breeggemann is working on raising money to cover the stake classes (5 gaited open, 3 gaited open, Jr. Horse Park,
3 year old under saddle). $1000 is needed. If you would like to contribute, please contact Emma.
-TASHA is looking for an experienced photographer. If you know of anyone, please contact Koren Mercer. Robin Levins will be
taking pictures inside and outside of the ring for the TASHA web site.
-Class 42 - ASB Park Pleasure - Open will be moved from Sunday to Saturday.
•Patricia Reed offered to organize a TASHA Youth Club to help with future horse shows.
•The meeting was adjourned at 4pm.

Motions Passed:
•TASHA will fund the difference between the $1000 needed for stake classes and what is raised (at least $250 has already been
raised), plus donate up to $500 more.
•For show judges, TASHA will pay a minimum of $250/day plus a $50 per diem (eating expenses) and cover hotel, airfare, and rental car expenses.
